The Notifications tab on the toolbar at the top of the home page is a terrific feature of our site that I hope you utilize. With all of the various forms of communication available at FSB, we have created a way for you to know if you have been contacted without having to surf the site.
Notifications for the following items may be received on the toolbar and/or by email:
- A Favorite Adult Author posts a new story
- A Favorite Junior Author posts a new story
- A new book Excerpt is posted
- A message has been posted on your Message Center
- A review has been posted on one of your stories
Groups
Toolbar notifications (not emails) are available for these items:
- A message has been posted on a private group of yours
- A member requests to join a private group for which you are an administrator
- An administrator invites you to join a private group
Friends
Toolbar notifications (not emails) are available for these items:
- A member sends you a friendship request
- A member accepts your friendship request
The Notifications tab on our home page will show the number of notices waiting for you to read. As your cursor hovers over the tab, a drop-down showing the current notifications will appear. Click on each notification and you will be taken appropriately to:
- The list of stories or excerpts where the new posting may be found
- The message center where the message may be found
- The area where the review may be found, etc.
The notification will automatically be removed from the list after you click on it. If your notification is received as an email, a link will be included to take you to the appropriate place. Viewing the emailed notification will not automatically erase the notification from the toolbar.
If you want to review or change your settings, go to My Account/Settings/Notifications.
Notification settings for junior members are found on a sponsoring adult member’s Control Center under My Sponsored Junior Members. Click on Edit next to the junior member’s name.
