Each member has a private category called Friends that is accessed through the member’s My Account/Friends. This is a list of FSB members who may be accessed more quickly and easily than repeatedly having to search for them through a directory. No one else may see the contents of a member’s list. When the Administrator of a group wants to invite another member to join the group, the invitation may only be made to a member within the Administrator’s personal Friends list.
Adding a Friend
When you go to the Adult or Junior Member Directory, you will see an Add Friend button by each name.
Click on the Add Friend button and a message will be sent to that member asking for the two of you to show as friends in each others Friend’s list. Following are methods for a member to know if a Friendship request has been made. A member may click on Pending Requests in his or her Friends group. A member may also receive notifications by email and/or on the toolbar. The email will provide a link for accepting or rejecting the request. Moving the cursor over the #1 by the toolbar’s Notifications tab will show a message requesting a friendship connection. Any of these methods provide buttons to accept or reject the request.
Note: if a member receives an email and a toolbar notification, acting on one will not automatically remove the other request. Accept or reject both. Review your Settings/Notifications to make sure how you want to be notified.
Once a friend has been added, that member’s name will show in your list. You have three options for managing your list of friends. They include most recently active on the site, newest and alphabetical.
Deleting a Friend
To delete a member from your Friends list, click on the Cancel Friendship button by the member’s name in your list or in the Adult or Junior Member Directory.
