There is more than one way to find a story to read.
100 Most Recently Posted Stories
This is featured on the home page under About Us. Click on the here button to be taken to the list. Then click on a story title to be taken to the story or on a pen name to be taken to that author’s profile page. You may also access this list on the toolbar under Read Stories/100 Most Recently Posted Stories.
Favorite Adult Authors and Favorite Junior Authors
These two boxes on the home page show the authors chosen as favorites by the most members. Click on the pen name and you will be taken to the member/author’s list of stories. You will be shown information about each story and then may select one to read.
Story Categories
In the tool bar at the top of the FSB home page, click on Read Stories/Story Categories. A list of categories used by members for the stories they write will be listed. Click on a category and a list of stories available will be shown. Select the one you want.
Directories
Click on the Adult Members or Junior Members directory available under the Directories tab on the toolbar. When you see any pen name, it will indicate how many stories that member/author has posted. Click on the pen name and you will be taken to the member/author’s profile page. Click on All My Stories to see the list of stories. You will be shown information about each story and then may select one to read.
My Favorite Adult Authors and My Favorite Junior Authors
A member has the option of assigning authors to the member’s My Favorites lists. These lists are shown in the Member’s Control Center. By each pen name you will see the date you added the member/author to your list and the date of the member/author’s latest story. Click on the pen name and you will be taken to the member/author’s profile page. Click on All My Stories to see the list of stories. You will be shown information about each story and then may select one to read.
Story Order
Member/authors have options regarding what order stories are to appear. The default system is that the most recently posted or edited story shows at the top of their list. However, they may arrange them differently if they choose. When you are searching for a new story by a particular author, just scan the posted dates to find the most recent.
Notifications
Each member has the option of being notified on the tool bar at the top of the home page and even by email when a favorite author posts a new story. All that needs to be done is click on the URL shown in the email or click on the toolbar message and you will be taken to that author’s stories.
Viewing Videos
If a link is provided to view a YouTube video, click on it once and the video will play. Click twice on the link and YouTube.com will open and the video will be presented. If there is a problem with opening a video, double clicking should be tried.
